Dickson’s emergency medical treatment has been changing a lot the past few years. On April 1st, 2009, we significantly updated protocols to provide a higher level of emergency care. The new protocols where created, reviewed, and approved by Dr. Matt Tincher and Dr. David Chambers.

In the new protocols, we have established the use of CPAP for severe respiratory distress. So what does it mean to you? CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure and in severe respiratory distress it can assist the patient in breathing and reduce the need for more invasive treatment.

We’ve added a few links below so you can learn more about CPAP.
